The vegetable hoe in the RAN series from Yaxell is an efficient knife with an almost rectangular blade, which allows you to cut straight through the produce without pushing or pulling the knife. It is ideal when you need to have good control over your cut, such as during intense chopping or when you want to avoid cutting into the root of an onion or root vegetable. Ran, which means "the excellent" in Japanese, is a fitting name for this knife series. The blades consist of 69 layers of damascus steel with a core of hard VG10 steel and outer layers of softer, rust-resistant steel. This gives the knives extreme sharpness and long-lasting durability. The blades are hammered and polished to create a beautiful appearance. The handle is made of black micarta, produced by joining linen cloth and special plastic under high pressure. This results in a hard, water-resistant and hygienic material that is perfect for kitchen environments. The handle is attached with two strong steel rivets and has a stainless button at the end to ensure perfect balance.
