Mariana Pellegrino Soto designed the Alba 468 ceiling lamp in 2017 for Italian Oluce. The inspiration for the lamp's design comes from the designer's fascination with nature, where a droplet of water is the source of the luminaire's design. Alba 468 consists of two glass domes suspended from a metal structure in a choice of brass or bronze. The rectangular profile of the design contrasts elegantly with the soft shapes of the frames. The opal glass contributes to the soft, diffused glow of the ceiling lamp. Alba 468 comes with a ceiling rose and a 280 cm transparent cable for elegant suspension.
The designer Mariana Pellegrino Soto was born and raised in Venezuela. At the age of 18, she began studying design in Italy. During her last year at the school, collaboration began between the school and the Italian lighting brand Oluce. The brand liked her design so much that they decided to take the contribution further and develop it into finished products.
