Artemide's Tolomeo lamp has become a popular classic since Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina designed the first version in 1987. Tolomeo Decentralized was designed in 1996 and is a pendant light with an arm that can be illuminated and angled. The lamp is made entirely of aluminum, the arms, and joints are polished, and the shade is made of matte aluminum. Tolomeo Decentralized is also available with parchment paper or gray satin fabric shades and can be chosen in any size. Light shades are not included.

Tolomeo has become popular in many homes because of its flexibility, where the lamp body can be easily adjusted to direct the light where it is needed. Tolomeo is available in several versions, all of which have in common that they stand for simple function, elegance, and solid craftsmanship. In 1989, Tolomeo's designers were awarded the Compasso d'Oro.
