Akari 55A is a shoji paper pendant lamp from Vitra designed by the Japanese-American artist and designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. Shoji paper, which is made from the bark of the mulberry tree, is strung over steel wire to give the lamp its fine shape. Akari 55A is part of the Akari lamp series, a series of lamps designed by Noguchi and handcrafted by Japanese craftsmen. Noguchi's work is artistically linked to abstract expressionism and his style came to have a major influence on 1950s design. All light sculptures in the Akari series are marked with a logo representing the sun and the moon, which confirms the authenticity of each product.

Design classic that fits in any room and is also easy to pack as it can be compressed! In addition to this, it increases in value over time, so if you keep them for 20 years, you can sell them for significantly more than what you bought them for here!
