Paola Navone 1950
Paola Navone is an eclectic and colorful designer, architect, art director and interior designer from Italy. Born and raised in Turin, she graduated from the Polytechnic in 1973 and moved to Milan where she studied architecture to begin her career as a designer.
After her graduation, Paola was a curious and driving force where her expression and design language clearly broke the then established norm in Italian design. She was also active in both the Memphis Group and the Alchemia Group in the 1980s.
After working with Alessandro Mendini, among others, she helped drive the "anti-design" movement that questioned conventions, broadening and opening doors for future designers and architects. Her personality is reflected in her design, where she often uses a colorful and often playful design language. She has drawn much of her inspiration from many parts of the world, including Southeast Asia and Africa, where she has spent much time.
Paola Navone has won many awards for her design, including the Osaka International Design Award in 1983, "Designer of the year" in the German magazine Architektur & Wohen, the Elle Deco International Design Award for two of her products and a nomination for the prestigious Interior Design Hall of Fame award. In 2018, Paola was the guest of honour at the Stockholm Furniture Fair where she designed the lounge. At NO GA we have collected many of Paola Navone's product designs, such as the popular Pinecone lamp series from FontanaArte and the Ivy series from EMU. She has also designed a garland, Kiki Outdoor Lamp, for Martinelli Luce, for a pleasant atmosphere for the patio. Discover Paola Navone's products with us at NO GA.
