In 1992, Marinella Patetta and Claudio Valént, who make up the duo Metis Lightning, designed the Nobi series for FontanaArte. The Nobi swing lamp is made of metal and has a frosted glass shade. The lampshade is shaped like two slats that are joined by small springs and are fixed in the circular lamp head. The series includes two wall lamps, two ceiling lamps and two floor lamps. The arms can be rotated, depending on the direction of light desired, and thus Nobi can provide direct, directional light to buildings or serve as general lighting. Nobi is available in three finishes, with chrome or satin nickel plated metal, or as white.
