Pinecone is a ceiling lamp designed in 2016 by Paola Navone for the Italian goods brand FontanaArte. The lamp is available in three different models in either transparent or milky white acid-etched glass. The shape of Pinecone, as the name suggests, is inspired by a pine cone. The transparent glass version provides a beautiful, subtle play of light and shadow. The acid-etched and white version gives a soft and gentle light diffusion. The manufacturing process has blown the glass inside the metal cage, thus preventing the glass from expanding in a natural way, creating the impression that the glass is about to break out of the cage. The metal cage is galvanized and gives a shiny and polished appearance.
