Steel Lab Light Table is a table lamp from Karakter, designed in 2010 by the South African design studio Anatomy Design. The table lamp is seen here in a design with a base, shade and rotating arm entirely made of black lacquered aluminium. In addition to the Steel Lab Light Table, the same series also includes a floor lamp in black lacquered aluminum as well as a table lamp and a floor lamp with a brass shade and porcelain base.

When Andrea Kleinloog from Anatomy Design created the Lab lighting series, she was inspired by her parents' pharmaceutical work and their old laboratory equipment. It is therefore no coincidence that materials such as porcelain, steel and brass were used to produce the lamps as these materials are often found in classic pharmacy and hospital environments.
