Cobra is a table lamp from Martinelli Luce designed by Elio Martinelli in 1968. Cobra was one of the first lamps to be produced in moulded resin, through a very advanced manufacturing process for its time. Cobra consists of a spherical shape in two parts, shade and base, uniformly joined by a straight joint that can be rotated through 360°. Comes with black cable and on/off button.
To celebrate 50 years since the original was designed, 23 different designers are invited to create their own version of the lamp. Only 30 unique copies of each version will be produced, all numbered. Paola Navone, an Italian architect, has designed one of these. Her version of Cobran is in a black and white pattern in the form of small semicircles. In 1983 Paola Navone won the prestigious Osaka International Design Award and in 2000 she was named "Designer of the Year" in the magazine Achitektur Wohnen. In 2011 she also won the Elle Deco International Design Awards for television projects and in 2014 she was inducted into Interior Design Magazine's Hall of Fame.
