Akari BB3-33S is a floor lamp handcrafted in wood and shoji paper with a bamboo handle and a black cast iron base. The artistically designed luminaire makes the Akari BB3-33S an interesting and eye-catching lighting fixture in rooms. Akari is a series of light fixtures designed by the Japanese-American sculptor, architect and designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. Noguchi's work is artistically linked to abstract expressionism and his design language came to have a great influence on the design of the 1950s. The light series Akari was created by Noguchi with inspiration taken from traditional Japanese design. The series consists of a total of over 100 luminaires and includes floor, table and ceiling lamps. All of Noguchi's light sculptures are designed in shoji paper, which is made from the bark of mulberry trees. The material provides a soft and atmospheric lighting.

I have wanted this lamp since the first time I saw it. Now it's finally mine and I couldn't be happier. A jewel in the living room, really!
