Akari UF3-Q is a floor lamp handmade in shoji paper with a steel wire structure. Akari is a series of light fixtures designed by the Japanese-American sculptor, architect and designer Isamu Noguchi in 1951. Noguchi's work is artistically linked to abstract expressionism and his design language came to have a great influence on the design of the 1950s. The light series Akari was created by Noguchi with inspiration taken from traditional Japanese design. The series consists of a total of over 100 luminaires and includes floor, table and ceiling lamps. All of Noguchi's light sculptures are designed in shoji paper, which is made from the bark of mulberry trees. The material provides a soft and atmospheric lighting.
