Akari 7A is a table lamp from Vitra designed by the Japanese-American artist and architect Isamu Noguchi in 1951 as part of the Akari lamp series. The Akari lamp series consists of lamps made by hand by Japanese craftsmen. Akari 7A is designed in white shoji paper with a steel frame surrounded by bamboo wood. Shoji paper is paper made from the bark of mulberry trees. The lamp is held up by three black lacquered steel legs. Akari 7A also works great to use as a floor lamp. All light sculptures in the Akari series are marked with a logo representing the sun and the moon, which confirms the authenticity of each product.
