Wild is an aniline leather which is one of the most natural and exclusive leathers from Fritz Hansen. It is soft and supple, fully dyed and lightly treated but the surface is uncovered. The pores are open which allows the leather to breathe and a fine patina develops on the brown leather as the furniture is used and exposed to the sun. To maintain as untreated a surface as possible, small natural marks can still be seen on the hide, making each leather unique and only the finest hides are used.

The black leather Essential is one of Fritz Hansen's standard leathers which is a durable and user-friendly leather thanks to the fact that it is sanded and given a coated surface that resists spills and stains. It is more durable than an aniline leather and does not develop the same patina over time as the leather's pores are covered.
