The retro-filled stool E60 Clear lacquered wood was created by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. Stool E60 is the original stool sketched in 1933 by Alvar Aalto. The E60 stool came to represent the primordial concept of functional furniture design with its simple form and clean lines. The idea behind the iconic stools is based on four long legs assembled with a round seat. The secret lies in the unique curvature of the legs, which later became a distinctive feature of all Alvar Aalto's furniture.
