The stripped bench 153A was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1945 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The bench is as modern and stylish now as it was then, and Alvar Aalto's design can be clearly seen in the L-shaped legs and in the top slots of the top. As the bench is made of molded birch, another attribute can be traced back to Aalto's heritage - birch was a material he constantly worked with. 153A is an excellent piece of furniture that offers extra seating space or relief and can be advantageously placed in a hall, as well as bedroom, living room or in the kitchen as extra seating. This piece of furniture is both beautiful and stylish, which sums up Alvar Aalto's imprint in functional furniture design.
Bench 153A is made of molded birch and is available in three different designs; clear lacquered and black and white lacquered birch. It is also available in a smaller model, Bench 153B, which is 72.5 cm long.
