The stripped-down 153B bench was created by Alvar Aalto in 1945 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The bench is as modern and stylish now as it was then, and Alvar Aalto's design can be clearly distinguished in the L-shaped legs and the top moldings of the top. As the bench is made of molded birch, another aspect that can be traced back to Aalto's heritage - birch was a material with which he was constantly working. 153A is an excellent piece of furniture that offers extra seating or relief and can be advantageously placed in a hallway, as well as a bedroom, living room or in the kitchen as extra seating. This piece of furniture is both beautiful and stylish which well sums up Alvar Aalto's imprint in functional furniture design.

Bench 153B is made of molded birch and is available in three different finishes: clear lacquered, black lacquered and white lacquered birch. It is also available in a longer model, Bench 153A, which is 112.5 cm long.
