The modern and timeless lamp Hand Grenade A110 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1952 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. Named after the resemblance of a hand grenade in its design, the ceiling pendant was designed specifically to adorn the building of the Finnish Society of Engineers. The lamp's clean lines and simple design made it a popular feature and was therefore put into production in the 1950s.
