Ceiling Lamp A622 is a ceiling lamp designed for Artek by architect and designer Alvar Aalto in 1953. Aalto was one founder of Artek and designed a good deal of classic furniture and interior design pieces for the brand. When Aalto designed a building, he also designed parts of the interior and an example of this is the A622 ceiling lamp.
The lamp was first designed for the Public Pension Institution in Helsinki, which Aalto designed in the 1950s, but it has since become popular in both public environments and private homes. The lamp is sturdy yet stylish thanks to the hand-sewn white metal slats. It is ceiling-mounted and has no plug.
