The Japanese brand Yaxell was founded in 1932 in Seki - the capital of knife and sword manufacturing. Since its inception, the family business has been one of Japan's leading knife manufacturers and is currently run by Takeshi Yamada san, the fourth generation of the family. We offer a hand-picked selection of the Yaxell range. Among other things, you will find knives from the acclaimed and award-winning Zen series. These knives' blades consist of 37 layers of steel. The core is made of VG10 steel and the other layers of a softer steel which gives an excellent edge as well as high strength and rust resistance. The knife handle is made of black micarta, which is produced by joining linen cloth and special plastic under high pressure. This results in a hard, water-resistant and hygienic material that is ideal for kitchen environments.
