Haussmann, also called The new Chesterfield, was designed in 1962 by Trix and Robert Haussmann as part of the Swiss Design Collection at Walter Knoll. The idea was to recreate the classic Chesterfield lounge chair as a lighter version. This here is Haussmann as a sofa, as elegant and timeless as the classic chair. The characteristic diamond-patterned upholstery is found on the back rest and seat. The thin legs are a nod to the Bauhaus style and its modernity.
