The Eames House Bird is a decorative wooden bird. The slender legs that support the black lacquered alder body are made of steel. For husband and wife Charles and Ray Eames, the wooden bird had a central place in their home, the Eames House, and appears in many of the photographs taken of the house.
Charles & Ray Eames enriched their collage-like home with many decorative objects and objects brought back from their travels. For more than 50 years, the Eames House Bird was a centerpiece in their living room, an object whose origins can be traced to American folk art. Using the original as a basis, Vitra has developed a similar variant so that you can also enrich your home with an Eames House Bird for many years to come.
