Lilla Åland Armchair is designed by Carl Malmsten for the Swedish brand Stolab. The chair consists of either solid oak or birch wood and is available to choose from in a wide selection of surface treatments. The simple but at the same time processed design of the Lilla Åland Armchair means that it fits nicely in most interior styles and environments. It is also beautiful to combine with Lilla Åland Pinnstol.
Lilla Åland Armchair is a successor to the classic Lilla Åland Pinnstol. The inspiration comes from Finström's Church on Åland, where Carl Malmsten held a craft course in 1938. From the village carpenter's hand-made chair, he took out the very core, then the drawing was adapted for production at Stolfabriks AB in Smålandsstenar, which was then called Stolab. In 1942, Lilla Åland got the well-known design that it still has today.
