The name Moooi comes from the Dutch word Mooi, which means beautiful. The third O is added to symbolize the uniqueness of the brand. Moooi’s portfolio consists of both national and international designers and architects with names such as Jurgen Bey, Bertjan Pot, Joost van Bleiswijk, Studio Job and Nika Zubanc. Moooi launched Maarten Baa’s Smoke collection in 2003, which was an immediate success. A year later, the collection was exhibited alongside other design classics from the 21st century at Moss Gallery, New York. The collection is becoming an iconic part of Moooi’s history, and the products will be on permanent display in museums around the world.

In 2015, Robin Bevers took over as CEO, and the company expanded with both showrooms and stores in New York. In 2017, it was Stockholm’s turn to get its own showroom. Moooi continues to produce unique designs that challenge convention and appeal to people of all ages, cultures, and personalities.
