Montana
Peter J. Lassen established Montana in Hårby on the Danish island of Funen in 1982. Inspired by the idea that everyone wants the freedom to design their own space, he created the Montana shelving system. The philosophy is that you should be able to combine the modules in any way you like, based on their color, shape, and function.
All components must be practical, stylish, durable, and not influenced by trends—this has been the case from the outset, and remains so today. With 36 different modules, 4 different depths and 42 colors, Montana offers endless possibilities. The shelving systems and the rest of Montana’s products are manufactured by 160 employees under one roof in Denmark.
Montana also offers a wide range of complete solutions including everything from sideboards, TV benches, night stands, bookshelves and drawers, to small key cabinets and medicine cabinets. The online store has a full range of all the available packages. In addition, NO GA is uniquely able to offer all of these products in all the Montana colors and styles. For example, most pieces can be combined with legs, a plinth, or castors - or even with suspension rails, if you prefer to mount your furniture directly on the wall.
Acclaimed design collaborations
Peter J. Lassen and his son Joakim have designed many of the brand’s products, often in collaboration with Montana’s design team or external designers. Recent collaborations include Verner Panton, one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. In 1998, Peter J. Lassen launched a storage module designed by Panton, and in 2003 they also began producing the iconic Tivoli chair, later named Panton One. Other design collaborations behind Montana’s practical designs include Salto & Sigsgaard, Henrik Leander and Andreas Hansen.
Arne Jacobsen designed the Djob table in 1971. Originally created to be placed in offices and meeting rooms at the Central Bank of Denmark, the table was to become a favorite for many more purposes. This classic table can be used as anything from a dining table and desk to a meeting-room table and school desk. Montana re-launched Djob in 1998 because of its popularity.
Montana stands for personal expression. The intention is to offer endless possibilities to create your unique home through smart design and excellent craftsmanship. Montana also offers complete sound systems, wardrobe and bathroom solutions, fully tailored to your room, needs and wishes. Today, Peter J. Lassen is still a member of the board and, together with his son Joakim, he plays an active role in marketing and product development at Montana.
