The In The Sun 190 Wall wall lamp was created after a collaboration between the French designer duo Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and the lighting company DCWéditions. The lamp has a round base made of steel and aluminum which can be obtained with a gold or silver finish. The base holds a glass dome and a unique screen consisting of a metal mesh in either stainless steel or brass. In The Sun 190 Wall is the smallest wall lamp in the In The Sun series. In addition to two additional wall lamps, the collection also includes table lamps and pendant lamps in various designs.
When the Pavillion Dufour at the world-famous Palace of Versailles was to be renovated, designers Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost wanted to create a series of lamps as an homage to Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King. The result was, among other things, In The Sun 190 Wall, which is characterized by festive shades in gold and silver. In addition to being decorative, the lamps also contribute to a very special, almost magical, atmosphere in the home.
