Up Junior is a small version of the iconic Up armchair, better known as Big Mama, designed by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia. This version of the armchair is intended for use by children aged 3 and over. The armchair has the same proportions as the original and is as comfortable as it is whimsical. When Gaetano Pesce designed Up, he did so based on his own personal view of women. He believes that women have always been involuntarily imprisoned by themselves. The armchair's footrest resembles a shackle that can symbolize how women are bound in their home.
