The acclaimed Tobi-Ishi dining table from B&B Italia comes here as a coffee table, created by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2014. The Tobi-Ishi coffee table has the same design as the dining table but is available in four finishes: oak, brushed light, brushed black, red, or green. The top has a rounded rectangular shape and is made of oak veneers, the distinctive base of solid oak. The organic, simplistic forms of the design make the Tobi-Ishi coffee table an attractive addition to the living room, consisting of three large blocks that together form a harmonious set.
The duo behind Tobi-Ishi are great fans of Japanese culture and art, and as such the design takes clear inspiration from Zen. The name of the table and the concept behind it comes from the round stones used for ornaments in classical Zen trees, which are called Tobi-Ishi.
