Tobi-Ishi is the dining table that becomes as much a sculpture as a piece of furniture in the home. Tobi-Ishi was designed in 2014 by design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Italian B&B Italia and has been seen in exclusive interiors around the world. The simple but unique design consists of three large blocks that together form a harmonious whole. Designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are very fond of Japanese culture and art where Tobi-Ishi is clearly inspired by Zen. Both the name and the concept behind the table come from the round stones that are placed next to ornaments in the Japanese Zen gardens, and the stones are precisely called Tobi-Ishi.
