Tolomeo from Artemide is a simple and timeless desk lamp that has taken the world by storm since the first version was designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987. Tolomeo is available in several different designs and is said to be the most popular desk lamp in the world today. Tolomeo Micro was designed in 2010. The lamp is made of aluminum and steel and is available in several different colors. Tolomeo Micro is the smaller version of both the classic and the Mini.
What made Tolomeo so popular is the flexibility where the entire lamp body can be easily adjusted with one hand to direct the light exactly where it is desired. "No desk lamp should require you to use two hands to adjust properly." said Michele De Lucchi when he designed the desk lamp. In 1989, Tolomeo's designers received the Compasso d'Oro.
