The clock belongs to the Nelson Wall Clocks series designed by George Nelson for Vitra between 1948 and 1960. The goal of the series was to introduce modern design into American homes. All watches are clearly inspired by the growing economic prosperity and strong faith in the future that permeated the United States during the fifties.
