Kaws - New Mags - NO GA
The book about artist Kaws is an acclaimed collection of his recent works, compiled in a stylish coffee-table book from New Mags. Kaws is a multi-artist who was first recognized for his graffiti artwork and subversive approach to billboards and telephone booths. Kaws currently lives and works in New York and exhibits his work in museums around the world. He has also formed several acclaimed design collaborations with brands such as Burton, Supreme and Vans.
Kaws' artistic work often revolves around the repeated use of figurative characters and motifs. Kaws also creates sculptures in a variety of materials that can be as large as 10 m tall. Kaws is often influenced by traditional artists such as Klaus Oldenberg and Chuck Close. This book is the first collection of his work in print. The book is written by Mónica Ramírez-Montagut who is curator of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, and Germano Celant, art historian director of Fondazione Prada in Milan.
