3217 Series 7 Fully upholstered Black Special Edition is a desk chair designed by Arne Jacobsen for the Fritz Hansen brand. Series 7 is made through the same innovative manufacturing process as Jacobsen's classic Ant chair. The seat and backrest are made in one piece from nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton and then pressed into its correct shape. Thanks to this, the Series 7 gets its thin and stylish shell.
As early as the 1950s, the collaboration between Fritz Hansen and Nordiska Galleriet began, with designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjærholm helping to put Danish furniture design on the map, including the PK22 chair and the Ant chair.
