CH56 High Stool is a barstool from the Danish brand Carl Hansen & Søn. Designed in 1985 by Hans J. Wegner, the barstool is adapted to function just as well in homes as in public spaces. Like many of his works, the CH56 barstool comes with a simple form and minimal materials, combined with thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship. The round legs taper beautifully both at the top and bottom for a visually light expression. In this design, the footrest is attached to the sturdier part of the legs for maximum durability.

In addition to the high barstool CH56 High Stool, Carl Hansen & Søn also offers a smaller barstool named CH58. These share the same massive wooden legs, stainless steel footring, and padded seat with leather upholstery. The difference lies in the height. This variant is designed to work with bar tables or at a bar counter, while the lower variant is better suited for, for example, a kitchen island. This is, of course, based on standard measurements and may vary in reality, so it's always good to measure yourself and follow the rule that there should be approximately 25-30 centimeters between the seat and the tabletop for maximum comfort.
