Vuodesta 1775 lähtien Royal Copenhagenin posliinissa on ollut kolme symbolia: siniset aallot, kuninkaallinen kruunu ja maalarin henkilökohtainen merkki. Aallot edustavat Tanskan vesiä ja aitoutta, kun taas Dagmar-ristillä koristeltu kruunu symboloi kuninkaallista yhteyttä. Vuodesta 1775 lähtien jokaisessa Royal Copenhagenin posliinissa on ollut sille ominaiset tehdasmerkinnät: kolme sinistä aaltoa, kuninkaallinen kruunu ja maalarin henkilökohtainen merkki. Nämä symbolit edustavat aitoutta, laadukasta käsityötä ja kuninkaallista yhteyttä.

Kun kuningatar Juliane Marie perusti Kuninkaallisen posliinitehtaan vuonna 1775, hän vaati, että kolme aaltoa olisi tehtaan tavaramerkki. Aallot symboloivat Tanskan kolmea tärkeintä vesialuetta: Juutinrauman, Suuren Beltin ja Pienen Beltin. Aallot on maalattu jokaisen posliinin kääntöpuolelle, ja ne ovat osa Royal Copenhagenin tunnettua aitouden ja käsityötaidon tunnusmerkkiä. Alun perin kruunu maalattiin käsin, mutta 1870-luvulla yhtiö alkoi leimata merkin lasitteen alle. Kruunua koristaa Dagmarin risti, joka on vuonna 1690 löydetty jalokivin koristeltu keskiaikainen risti. Vuosien mittaan kruunun muotoilu on muuttunut, mutta edelleen on mahdollista tunnistaa vuosi tai vuosikymmen, jolloin kukin posliini on valmistettu.


Kunkin maalarin yksilölliset merkinnät

Royal Copenhagenin posliinin maalaustaiteen oppimiseen kuluu neljä vuotta. Vaikka voi olla vaikeaa erottaa yhtä Blue Fluted -mallia toisesta, kokeneet maalarit tunnistavat aina oman työnsä, kuten oman käsialansa. Jokaisella maalarilla on oma merkkinsä, joka on leimattu jokaisen posliinin alapuolelle, mikä tekee jokaisesta teoksesta henkilökohtaisen ja ainutlaatuisen.
