Arco is considered by many to be one of the most iconic design classics of the mid-20th century. The lamp has appeared in many contexts, not least in popular culture such as the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever starring Sean Connery and the 1960s TV series Mad Men. Another classic is the glamorous Coupé 3320 designed by the famous Italian designer Joe Colombo. Launched in 1967, the arc lamp is considered by many to be a design classic, underlined by its inclusion in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Neue Sammlung Museum.
