Pipistrello Table Lamp is an iconic lamp in modern design history, designed by Gae Aulenti year 1965 for Martinelli Luce. The unique expression of the table lamp was created with inspiration from the wings of the bat, which is reflected in the interesting shape of the shade and Pipistrello also means bat in Italian. The lamp comes with an on/off switch and is non-dimmable.
Pipistrello has a characterful telescopic base in stainless steel with adjustable height between 66 8211 cm. This makes it ideal as a floor or table lamp. The shade consists of four parts that are joined in the middle with a knob and is made of opal white methacrylate that lights up when the lamp is switched on. The lamp base is available in several different colors and the knob in the middle of the shade comes in the same color as the base.
Pipistrello is also available in a dimmable model and in two smaller sizes. In 2015, a gold-plated anniversary edition was also introduced to celebrate Pipistrello's 50th anniversary.

Super cool! Well packaged, easy to mount the screen. Included light sources from Martinelli Luce, but switched to Philips Hue. Unfortunately, the only e14 bulbs from the Philips Hue Color are quite oblong, and therefore cast a small round shadow inside the screen as they come quite close to the screen. Hard to explain.. The dark brown color of the lower part of the lamp is really very dark. Looks black in most lights which is nice.
