Model 597 Table Lamp - Gubi - NO GA

The Model 597 Floor Lamp by Gubi, designed by Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini and first launched in 1961, is the lamp that established him as a brilliant lighting designer. Its unique and playful shape perfectly captures Frattini's extraordinary vision of the aesthetics of light. The floor lamp's unique nylon fringes were inspired by both the fashion world and the fringed entrance door curtains that were common in Italian bars and grocery stores during the late 1950s. Thanks to a row of lateral lamps, the table lamps emit a 360º play of indirect light, which is softened by the fringes to create a rich ambient glow, while the reflective aluminum cover adds warmth to the uplight. The floor lamp has a playful look, but does not compromise when it comes to functionality. It adds sophistication and character to interiors without relying on superfluous decorative details.
