The PK22 armchair is a true design icon from Fritz Hansen, designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1956. For this version of the armchair, the seat, and backrest are made of braided, natural-colored rattan. The seat rests on a thin base of bent, satin-brushed spring steel. PK22 is an attractive and discreet armchair an excellent example of Poul Kjærholm's quality craftsmanship. The design is based on Kjærholm's graduation project, PK25, and many similarities can be seen in the design expression. The armchair is also available with a leather upholstered seat.

After winning the Grand Prix at the world's premier design fair, Triennale in Milan, PK22 was the breakthrough for Poul Kjærholm's career on the international design scene. The armchair was an instant success when it was introduced.
