Catellani & Smith ceiling lamps

Enzo Catellani was born in Zibello just outside of Parma in the 1950s. At age 30, he designed the Turciú and Albero della Luce limited edition lamps, launching his career as a lamp designer.

The talented designer was discovered by German designers, and his lamps were introduced to the world’s leading contemporary design exhibitions. With their creative design idiom at the intersection of lighting and art, the lamps were an instant success, and in 1989 Enzo Catellani established the company Catellani & Smith.

The other half of the name comes from Logan Smith, a man who, according to Enzo Catellani, was a famous English racecourse architect. But it later emerged that this was also the name of Enzo Catellani’s horse. Catellani & Smith has become one of the world’s leading lighting brands. Since its inception, the brand has brought originality and elegance to homes around the world.

The classic Catellani & Smith design is in natural tones and materials; amber with charcoal, chrome with golden metal, and glass with white.
