84.5 is a pendant light from Bocci designed by Omer Arbel in 2017. The lamp has five pendants meant to be suspended in a random configuration; the height is adjustable to a maximum of 300 cm. Each pendant is approximately 12 cm in diameter and is made by hand, making each one unique in proportion, size, and shape. White glass is encased in a thin copper ring which is then dipped in a warm clear glass. By carefully blowing air into the mold, the white glass is forced through the net, creating a delicate pillow shape in the outer layer. The copper can sometimes be folded and creased, and the waviness of the outer glass can be recommended, it is part of the craftsmanship. 84.5 is suspended by a flat metal cable from a white lacquered metal ceiling frame.
