Nya Manufaktur is the name of designer Mats Theselius' own production. The name itself is an abbreviation of Mats Theselius Nya Manufakturaffär on Storgatan in Löderup.

The property, which is mainly the Theselius family's summer home, also houses the shop. For the past 25 years, it has been used for exhibitions, and in recent years it has also served as a summer shop selling furniture, lamps, slippers and other items designed by Mats. All the items from the companies Mats works with have been sold, as well as Mats' own production of various items and printed matter.

“My children wanted summer jobs, so we started a summer shop. They got bored on the first day, so it's mostly been me working there. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it's been both interesting and fun, not least because I otherwise never have direct contact with the people who have my furniture,” says Mats Theselius. Nya Manufaktur currently publishes Mats' own production of objects, including the limited and signed armature series Atlas. It consists of a table lamp, floor lamp and wall lamp in stainless steel. The construction is simple and the material solid. 

“I've always enjoyed exhibiting and meeting visitors' reactions. Even at my first exhibition, I met people who talked about my work in a way I could never have imagined. Running a shop is a bit like that, and it's a good way to show new products,” says Mats.
