The table is made of metal which is then powder coated in black, pink or white. The Match Side Table has two compartments for storage. The lower compartment, which is the largest, is angled from one side, while the upper compartment is angled from the opposite side. They met at Schwabisch Gmund University, where they studied industrial design. In 1990, the duo did their internship together in New York and became friends. Cultural influences are important to the duo, äalthough their designs are rooted in German thought äthey are shaped by experiences from other cultures such as the American and Italian. The duo wants to continue to evolve and they do so by being curious about other cultures. Throughout the years they have collaborated with several prominent international brands such as Cassina, Fritz Hansen and Thonet.
