The story of Nanimarquina begins in 1987 in Barcelona when Nani Marquina founded the self-titled brand. Design had long been a feature of Marquina's life; her father, Rafael Marquina, was a design pioneer in Spain and the first to receive the FAD Award in 1961. This made a strong impression on Marquina and she determined from an early age to follow in her father's footsteps.
Today, the family-owned company offers unique rugs created with creativity, quality and innovation in mind. With a deep respect for traditions, the brand produces carpets using ancient techniques from the raw materials of India, Pakistan and Nepal. Even the choice of materials is inspired by different cultures, which is what distinguishes the inspiration in the design of the carpets. Nanimarquina has collaborated with a number of prominent designers such as Tord Boontje, the duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and Ilse Crawford, to name but a few.
Handmade rugs where every detail tells a story
Nanimarquina offers a versatile range of rugs that play with colour, shape and texture. The combination of manual production, modern design and traditional techniques has resulted in quality rugs that convey love and well-being. They are easy to feel in the hands and feet. At the same time, they are also restful and add an inviting touch to the whole interior.
