The CH29P Sawbuck Chair is designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1952 and gets its name from the resemblance of a sawbuck traditionally used by loggers. It is available in oak or beech with different surface treatments depending on the wood type chosen. The seat is upholstered in leather with a variety of colors to choose from. It works well as a dining chair or work chair at a desk. The chair is also available uncovered, CH29T, in a combination of oak and walnut.
Like the closely related CH28, the CH29P Sawbuck Chair is designed to be sturdy and has become one of Wegner's most well-known chairs. It was taken out of production in the 1970s but returned 20 years later thanks to pressure from Wegner's daughter.
