The stylish and eye-catching 42 armchair was created by Alvar Aalto in 1932 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The 42 armchair is a true original and the furniture designer created it when he began experimenting with bending wood. At that stage, he sketched out and made Armchair 42, which is a supple console chair with soft shapes, which is not only beautiful to look at - it also provides a soft rocking action for a seat with greater comfort.
