Stool 60 Nordiska Galleriet Limited Edition is a limited edition of Alvar Aalto's classic stool, developed in a collaboration between Artek and Nordiska Galleriet. The stool is made of lacquered beech with a seat that is a direct replica of the Nordiska Galleriet’s well-worn checkered floor, with its original 110-year patina of scuffs and dirt. Like the floor, the stool is finished with care. Every chip, scuff, and scratch add character and grows more beautiful with time. Stool 60 is a piece to have and to keep.

Stool 60 was designed in 1933 and Alvar Aalto was one pioneer of laminating and woodworking. His innovative and experimental techniques resulted in a more organic shape for the wood, which was groundbreaking at the time. It laid the foundation for the unique L-shaped legs that support the stool and have become Aalto’s most distinctive signature.

Stool 60 Nordiska Galleriet Limited Edition is available in 100 copies, all of which are numbered. The Stool NE60 children's stool is also available in a limited edition of the same number.
