Chris Martin is a British designer and one of the founders of Massproductions, a furniture company known for its modern and functional design solutions. The company was founded in 2009 by Chris Martin and Magnus Elebäck, and since then, it has made a name for itself in the design world with its sleek and durable furniture. 

Chris Martin 1970 

Chris Martin was born in 1970 and educated at the Royal College of Art in London. He began his career as an assistant to the well-known designer Jasper Morrison, which gave him a solid foundation in design principles and techniques. In the mid-1990s, Martin moved to Sweden to work with Swedish designers Thomas Eriksson and Thomas Sandell. It was here that he met Magnus Elebäck, and their collaboration began. 

In 1999, Magnus Elebäck and Chris Martin started working together as consultants in the furniture industry. Over the next ten years, they worked for many major players in the industry. Their shared vision and passion for function and design led to the decision to launch their own brand. In 2009, they founded Massproductions, a company where they are responsible for the design, production, distribution, and marketing of their products. The goal of Massproductions was to create timeless and sustainable design with maximum material and technical knowledge. 

Massproductions had its breakthrough with the wire chair Tio, characterized by its clear identity and visual lightness. The chair quickly became popular and established Massproductions as a leading player in modern furniture design. Since then, the company has launched a number of prominent pieces of furniture, including the Dandy sofa, the Odette stool for Arlanda, and the Landa conference table. These products combine aesthetic elegance with practical functionality, making them popular in both private and public environments. 

Another addition to the Massproductions collection is the Marcel Coat Stand. The Marcel Coat Stand is an elegant and functional coat rack that combines style and practicality. The design reflects Massproductions' philosophy of creating products that are not only visually appealing but also durable and useful in everyday life. Chris drew inspiration for the coat rack from the French artist Marcel Duchamp's work Bottle Rack.
