The Falcon Phoenix Highback is an iconic armchair from LK Hjelle, designed by Sigurd Resell in 1971. Resell, with his solid background in carpentry and training from the Wood Department at the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Crafts (1943–1947), drew inspiration for this armchair from the design of the hammock. This inspiration resulted in a chair that offers unique sitting comfort and good freedom of movement. Resell, known for his robust steel furniture designs after the Second World War, gained recognition for the Falcon (originally called Blankvals) when he won second prize in the furniture competition "En möbel" organized by the Industry Council in 1970. The armchair has since become one of the most prominent Norwegian the furniture icons, appreciated for its distinctive design and comfort.
