Piuma is an innovative and affordable armchair created by Piero Lissoni in 2016 for Kartell and is the result of a lengthy research process for materials and design. In 2017, Piuma won Reddots prestigious Best of the Best Design Award.
The Piuma chair is the first product on the market to be manufactured by molding a material with carbon fiber. The unique combination of carbon fiber and thermoplastic creates an ultra-lightweight chair that weighs only 2.2 kilos, without compromising on durability and lightness.
Piuma's shell has a soft profile, with the armrest, back, and seat designed as a single piece of furniture. The armrest is elegantly designed, giving the chair both esthetic appeal and comfort. Unique to Piuma is the extremely thin plastic shell, which is only 2 mm thick, yet very light and flexible. Piuma can be used both indoors and outdoors and is available in a variety of beautiful colors.
