J104 Chair is a chair designed by Joergen Baekmark for the Danish brand HAY. The chair is made of solid beech which can be chosen in a natural finish or in Dusty Gray, Beige Gray, Stone Gray, Black, White, Gray, and Coral. Due to the different color choices, the chair is easily adaptavle to all kinds of interior styles and environments. Joergen Baekmark's J104 Chair is designed as a cross between an armchair and a dining chair and has here been reproduced by HAY.
Danish designer Joergen Baekmark worked at the design studio FDB Furniture from 1958 to 1967. His designs are characterized by a particular ease and for pioneering furniture to be exported. Joergen Baekmark's strategy is a desire to create elegant yet simple and practical design, intended for mass consumption. At FDB, Baekmark was commissioned to design lightweight furniture for export, such as the JW08 chair. Later he also became head of the furniture department at FDB.
